DAY 42 MLB Selections

Updated: May 19

Let's keep the winning streak going, going for late night money

Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals

Chicago will start right-hander Lucas Giolito on Wednesday. The right-hander enters this contest at 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA in five starts. Giolito is blowing opponents away, striking out 37 in 26.2 innings. He allowed one run in seven innings in his last start, breaking a run of two straight starts where he allowed three runs in each of those games.Right-hander Zach Greinke will get the start for the Royals. Greinke is 0-2 with a 3.52 ERA in seven starts. The right-hander was hammered in his last outing, allowing five earned runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings against Colorado. However, he has allowed two runs or fewer in five of his seven starts this season. They will need a great start out of Greinke, as this bullpen is not been very good, 23rd overall with a 4.15 ERA. Greinke ain't what he use to be, and is not looking good. hard to believe the royals are favored in this game

Texas Rangers vs L. A. Angels

The Texas Rangers try for a fourth straight win and the sweep of a series with the visiting Los Angeles Angels when the two teams square off again on Wednesday night. Texas won the first two games of the series, moving into third place in the American League West standings. Los Angeles has dropped into second place in the division with the two losses, a game behind the first-place Houston Astros. This should be another good game between division rivals, Los Angeles Shohei Ohtani is 3-2 with a 2.78 ERA in six starts, striking out 46 over 32.1 innings. He’s been very good in May, making two starts and going 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA over 13 innings. Right-hander Dane Dunning will get the start for Texas. Dunning is 1-2 with a 4.06 ERA in seven starts, striking out 37 in 37.2 innings. Looks like 3-in-a-row - go with the Rangers!

Pittsburgh Pirates (15-21) vs Chicago Cubs (15-20)

PIRATES +140 WIN 3-2

Cubs Drew Smyly comes in with a 1-4 record while pitching to a respectable 3.64 ERA. He is coming off a rough outing in his last start allowing four runs over six innings while conceding ten hits. Pirates Mitch Keller has really struggled out of the gate this season entering Wednesday with an 0-5 record and a whopping 6.61 ERA over his first seven starts.

This is an UGLY game so I'll take the (+) line
