Reasoning: Red Sox have a major disadvantage on the hill today.  German has solid career numbers against the Red Sox; pitching to a mid 3s ERA and a WHIP just over 1.  Meanwhile, the Red Sox start Tanner Houck who is struggling this year with an ERA in the mid 5s, though he’s been a bit better on the road pitching to a 4.56 ERA. In 9 appearances against the Yankees, Houck has fared pretty well pitching to a 2.28 ERA. Although he’s  faced them a total of 9 times, only 4 were starts and they were in previous years when he was more effective.   In 13 innings pitched at Yankee Stadium, Houck has kept the runs down, an ERA in the 3s, but the WHIP ratio over 1.6 suggests he’s been a bit lucky.

Combine that with the fact that this year he just hasn’t been himself and it adds up to taking the Yankees on the -127 ML.
